Cycladic Gastronomy Festival "Nicholas
Tselementes"
Sifnos is the island of the famous Greek chef Tselemendes and every year in
the beginning of September many visitors gather to attend the three-day Festival
of Cycladic Gastronomy "Nicholas Tselementes". The Festival is taking
place in the central square of Artemonas and organized under the suprvision
of Sifnos Municipality. In 2012 was the anniversary of 100 years since the first
edition of the famous "Tselemendes" the book that became synonymous
with the cooking guide for Greece and for this reason, the events were of particular
brilliance.
In the central square of Artemonas cooks, from the islands who participate,
offer to the visitors of the festival traditional dishes. Young children who
have signed up earlier, took caps and recipes from the organizers and found
a creative way to learn more about their food. Under the guidance of chefs,
kids prepare healthy food suitable for snacks at school.
