Panagia ta Fyrogia

On the road to Vathi, in a distance about one kilometre from Katavati, you will find the old monastery called Panagia ta Fyrogia. The monastery was rebuilt in 1978 and this project earned later, as an award, the special prize of Europa Nostra. Some years ago, monks from the monastery of Profitis Elias, used to stay during wintertime in this monastery. Today you can still visit the bakery, the olive mill and some cells of the monks.
